Implementation procedures
The objective of our structured implementation approach ensures that each initiative is thoroughly vetted, strategically planned, and meticulously executed. By following these detailed implementation steps, we maintain high standards of quality, accountability, and impact. Projects may start through strategic agreements with key partners such as UNICEF and UNDP, or through calls for proposals.
- Calls for Proposals: Alternatively, we issue calls for proposals to invite interested parties to submit their project ideas. This approach allows us to tap into a diverse pool of innovative solutions and select the most promising projects through a competitive process. By opening up opportunities to a broader audience, we ensure that we are supporting a wide range of initiatives that can drive significant and transformative change.
- Project Proposal Submission: Interested parties must submit a detailed project proposal, which includes a comprehensive plan and budget. The proposal should also encompass a sustainability plan, outlining how the project will continue to deliver benefits beyond the initial funding period. Additionally, it should contain a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan to measure progress and outcomes, a risk assessment to identify potential challenges, and a community engagement strategy to ensure local support and involvement.
- Initial Screening: The Program Director conducts an initial screening to ensure the proposal meets basic criteria and aligns with our mission and vision. This includes checking for completeness, feasibility, and initial alignment with our core values and objectives.
- In-depth Evaluation: Relevant Advisory Committees and a panel of consultants conduct an in-depth evaluation of the proposal. They assess its feasibility, impact potential, alignment with our core values, and overall quality. This stage involves a thorough review of the project's technical, financial, and operational aspects.
- Board Review and Approval: The Board of Directors reviews the evaluated proposals and grants approval for those that meet our standards and objectives.
- Implementation with Regular Progress Reports: Approved projects proceed to implementation, with regular progress reports required to monitor advancement and address any emerging issues. These reports ensure ongoing oversight, allowing us to make adjustments as needed to keep the project on track.
- Mid-term and Final Impact Evaluations: Projects undergo mid-term and final evaluations to assess their impact, effectiveness, and alignment with initial goals. These evaluations help us determine the success of the project and identify areas for improvement. At the end of each financial year or completion of the project a UC (Utilisation Certificate) duly by a practising CA or equivalent is submitted by the parties that have been supported.
- Lessons Learned Documentation and Dissemination: We document and disseminate lessons learned from each project to inform future initiatives and share
